Bruce "Rust Bucket" Watts here with the first topic for discussion. As some of you may know, not all rusty rodders like the term "Rat" Rod or Roadster concerning their car or truck. They view this term to be derogatory and demeaning. Instead, they prefer the description of their beloved rusty work of art to be "The Authentic Hot Rod". They have built their rod in tribute to the "authentic" hot rod enthusiast who ordinarily didn't have the means for the painted and polished variety that has been popular for so many years. Their focus is on function rather than looks. If it is loud and fast, all is well and good. The topical question for this week is do you believe that the term "Rat" Rod or Roadster is acceptable or demeaning?
